Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the great actor, also comes in the top news again. He won much fame for his dominant performance in his recently released movie, Raees. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan in leading roles. He is now creating a lot of new fans on the internet as the time he shared pictures having a striking resemblance with the controversial writer, Manto. He shares this picture on his Twitter account. The pictures taken for his upcoming biopic on Manto, announced by Indian actress and filmmaker Nandita Das.

Manto who composed an impressive body of work touching different genres and interesting topics is known for his sharp and intense style. Manto penned many short stories in which he questioned social norms. Nandita Das also shared her long wish to make a film on one of her favourite writers. While discussing the biopic and lead star Nawazuddin Siddiqui she said, “It’s a work in progress having a lot more to be done, as for how Manto looked and how he was as a person. His living style, attitude, sensitivity, courage and fears. Many contradictions have to portrayed honestly. I have no doubt that Nawazuddin is the best choice for the part. His span as an actor as well as sensitivity as a person both are needed.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is also thrilled for the upcoming biopic of the passionate writer. He stated, “Manto was a superb writer in the 40s & 50s, and I am extremely excited to play this one as an exciting project. Nandita Das discuss this with me at Cannes, I have pulled to the fascinating challenge of doing a period drama.”

He continued, “I have read a lot on Manto and knew a few of his writings. The role crosses from 25 to 35, and my office is full of dresses and shoes of his time. We would like to keep the look as much natural as possible, Manto was a simple man. I will absorb the way of talking, though there aren’t any videos available, I will depend on his works to understand the rhythm of his speech. And the way he uses words, elegantly”. Pakistani director-actor Sarmad Sultan Khoosat also made a film titled “Manto” which released in 2015. It was also screened at the 21st Kolkata International Film Festival last year.
